Snovember

So, it snowed a lot in November.  The big storm hit right before Thanksgiving - they even closed down ISU for the day!  Of course Darik was already at work so that just meant he came home two hours early to shovel the driveway.  Good thing he had Ellie to help (who has her own baby shovel).  She LOVES snow, as you can tell.  I was complaining about it and she says, "Mom, you just gotta try snow!  You can make snow angels and snowmen!"

I also tried something scary - pressure canning chicken!  I thought I was going to explode my kitchen, but we all safely survived.  And it is so EASY cooking with ready-made chicken, let me tell ya!  I think I had two 40 pound cases that I canned in 4 batches for about 30 quarts.  Cool, huh!
I decorated the tree early - in November even!  I wanted it done while D was off work.  These pictures are from my last photography lesson for Renae.  We decided to try and make Christmas tree bokeh.  It worked, kind of, but it was fun to play around trying to make it work!!  Then we went outside and worked on composition.  It was freezing but I got a few shots.

I'm sad we didn't get any pictures from Thanksgiving.  We had planned on spending a day up in Idaho Falls with the Andersons but the day before Randy got a call from work asking him if he wanted a route to Arkansas leaving on Thanksgiving.  They definitely jumped at the chance so we got to see them a few hours before we all left at the same time.  It was a good visit but we'll have to make sure to visit after Christmas.
