Turkey Day

was awesome. We had my dad fly in for two days. It was really laid back . . . we had a great time. It was fun to see Ellie just LOVE papa so much. Some friends from our ward had us over for dinner -- it was amazing that I didn't have to cook or clean up, we got to eat amazing food, AND they sent us home with leftovers! Can't beat that, huh? Plus it was AMAZING weather - I just can't begin to describe how much I love a 60* temp. We were taking walks, etc. The night before was D's Bday, we went out to eat at The Greek Place (good if you don't try the exotic stuff) and then watched the Cinderella Man that night. For all of you who haven't seen it, it is way better than it's box office receipts . . . and if you have seen it and just thought it was another wussy feel-good sports movie, go back and watch it again. The lessons it taught were so amazing, it is such a profound movie to me that can be life-changing if you look for the lessons . . . anyway off my soapbox now :-)

    Krissy and Darik:
Even though it was just two measely days...those two days I was able to spend with you made that particular trip the BEST I've ever had, rather than the worst...even better than the multiple basketball trips I've taken to Hawaii (up to 3 now, I think) or Alaska (twice). I couldn't begin to tell you how sweet that time was to me. I only had two regrets about it (1) Mom wasn't there, and (2) it ended painfully soon.

Our prayers are on you guys BIG TIME! We're hoping to see Darik this week...too bad you and Papa's little Elle can't come, too.
