Today I busted out trusty Stella, my old guitar. Actually it's my dad's old guitar I took posession of when I took a guitar class in college. They already had another one at home, so it kind of just stayed with me . . . It was WAY out of tune. So today I tried to tune that baby. Now the person who taught me how to tune a guitar could do it in like, 10 minutes flat, tops. But I had two things working against me:
- My piano is out of tune. We never had it tuned when we bought it and moved it here cuz it's like $100 and it sounds good anyway. It's not like I'm Jim Brickman or anything.
- I wouldn't say I'm tone deaf. Maybe a little tone hard of hearing. Or maybe tone needs some help. I didn't think I was this bad, though.
After four hours of working on it off and on throughout the day this is the result:

I was really hoping to be able to bust out some of John Denver's "Country Home" or a little "Leaving on a Jet Plane" and see if I could get Elle Belle to shake what her mama gave her. Now that would be a great photo op. Oh well, it's off to Ebay to search for a new string set -- the one I have is 5 years old anyway. It will have to wait until next month, though, it doesn't fit in this month's debt diet allowance!
