Red Tape
Well, well, well . . . better late than never. Last week we never heard from ISU due to a delay in paperwork processing. They had forgotten to have Darik submit to a background check while he was there. Today the offices were supposed to be closed, but Darik's new boss made an exception today just for him. It's been almost two months to the day since I came home from mutual on November 1st and decided to just do some random job searching on the Internet. For some reason I thought to check out www.isu.edu on the job board for anything that might be there. The Director of Ticketing position had been posted two days earlier. It's been a long two months of wading thru red tape (we have a strange sense of foreboding at his new potentially-frustrating bureaucratic employer), but everything seems to have just worked out better than we could have imagined. He starts January 8th, the pay is very comparable to what the RR paid--transfering that to Poky will be just fine, we'll be able to live in my parents' basement apartment (which is located a block from his office) while we save up money to buy a house. Hopefully our next move will be our last . . . so . . . YAY!
