This is the apartment 3 days after we moved in.
As of last week this is what the apt looks like after we found and reassembled our kitchen shelving. We are living on a tight budget until our Iowa house sells . . . my parents felt bad that for our date nights we weren't going out to eat that they searched their pockets to find all of their "BOGO free dinner coupons". We actually splurged last night and went bowling at the SUB down on campus. It was really fun, even if we were surrounded by 14-year-olds. Anyway, when I say we live in a nutshell, I mean it quite literally :-). This is all there is other than two small bedrms and a tiny tiny bathrm.
p.s. on a side note for the past month our fridge has smelled of rotten meat -- or so I've been told. I thought the smell is much closer to old urine. I guess the nice new fridge had been such a good deal because the last people who owned it just left meat in it without it plugged in . . . for quite a while. I think the smell has been worse than the lack of space, but as we speak we have some "bacteria/enzyme culture+deoderant spray that digests organic wastes, reduces volume of solids, and kills odors". My only hope is that after the fridge is treated with this stuff it will be safe to put my food in it again!
p.p.s. our own fridge is in a storage unit.
