Too Cool For School

One of my brothers was able to stay here in town over the weekend until Tuesday, so we tried to get out and do fun things as a family. Like -- bowling. This is one of my fave new pics, while Kim was helping Ellie push the ball down the lane on her turn Ellie all of a sudden discovered she had pockets and that her little hands fit in them. We couldn't get her to take her hands out of her pockets for like 5 minutes. There was a cute 20-year-old boy on one of the next lanes she went over, walked up to him, struck this pose, and ignored me. I couldn't believe it, only 20 mo old and already too cool for mom when the boys are around. I was also able to snap tons of pics of everyone else that will make awesome scrapbooking pics . . . little kids do cute things in a bowling alley. I have to admit Ellie's age and personality wasn't ready for it yet. I was constantly running after her and saving her life . . . whether it was grabbing her back from running down the waxed lane so she wouldn't crack her head open, or the time I grabbed her back from crawling down the area between 2 lanes (yep, she was up in between to neighboring gutters about 4 feet down by the time I got her), or the time I grabbed her back from walking up behind my dad when it was his turn, or the time she's throwing a tantrum because I wouldn't let her carry the ball on her own and I had to lay her down on the hardwood floor to wait it out (if I hadn't laid her down she would have sat down and then thrown her head back as hard as possible on the floor -- it's her tantrum thing) . . . anyway, you see the point.
