S-O-L-D!

As I write we are getting an appraisal done on our Iowa home. We are going to then list below that price and use it as a tool in negotiation. We did list our home just a bit high to give ourselves wiggle room, but we are getting kind of impatient because . . . . . . . .

We put in an offer on a home here in Poky contingent on the other one selling. It has almost everything we're looking for. Because we've moved 15+ times in the first six years of our marriage we are ready to settle down and find a home we can live in forever, if we want to. So it needs to have room for a family to grow into it, but it needs to be nice enough that we don't have to update it. We like brick exteriors and being near to elem school & church. Well, we found it so we offered, it was accepted, and now we're just waiting on Iowa to warm up enough for buyers to get out and start looking. This is just the cutest house, the only thing is that it's not within walking distance to Ds work (only 2 miles away) and it doesn't have a kid-friendly backyard (but that is easily overcome by being 1 block from the elem school playground!). As soon as I can find pics of it I'll post. Exciting times. It will be nice to get out on our own again and get all of our stuff out of storage. Right now I love the convenience my mom & I share of watching the kids . . . but I think I need my own place :-)

update: here our pics of my two fave rooms: a redone kitchen with granite counters and new cabinets plus the big front room with a fireplace & a sweet view!

Update: Man, I should have blogged about this a long time ago. 24 hours after blogging this we receive and accept a really good offer. We're closing a month from now and will be in the new house by may (God willing that everything goes without a hitch). I'm doing quite the happy dance, and unfortunately, it probably looks like Elaine dancing from Sein (full-body dry heave set to music)!!!

  1. Yeah! That is great news. It has warmed up here in Iowa so I hope that brings a great buyer for your house. I can't wait to see more pictures of your soon to be house in Idaho.

Hooray! I'm so glad you guys sold your house! And yes, I believe blogging is the cure for many things. Whenever I write something down than it almost instantly changes, making me pretty much a liar. I think that is part of Murphy's Law. Congrats! I can't wait to hear more about your new house.
