Independence Day

We didn't get too crazy. The day before a temporary foster placement that had been with us for a week was moved home to Utah--so this next day we just took it easy and relaxed. Just us 3 went down to the city's 4th of July parade. Poky's 4th of july parade will always stink because everyone always goes all out for the Pioneer Day parade on the 24th. But hey, we still got candy. I believe we did a friend barbecue in the afternoon with dutch oven chicken and potatoes. We have been dutch ovening quite a bit at the start of the summer. These potatoes are the best in the world -- so addicting. Anyway, enough about the food. Then we chilled and watched hottie-will-smith in Independence Day and then went up to watch the fireworks. It's nice -- the nearby neighbors all congregated on the lawn of our churchhouse just up the road on the top of the hill so we could see the fireworks going off from the fairgrounds just a mile or two away. This was so much better than all the crazy people who drive to see fireworks and then the traffic makes it so it takes em 3 hours to drive home.

When Ellie was tired of the fireworks she just looked up at me and said, "Mommy, all done." So darik just picked her up and walked the one block home and put her to bed. It was nice!
