If the shoe fits

Ellie's favorite thing to do is try on glass slippers - whether on her feet or someone else's it is very likely this takes up a good chunk of her free time. She takes these little hand-me-down church shoes from her cousins and takes turns trying to pound them on everyone's feet. Literally. She jams your toes into a size 6 toddler shoe, then lifts it up and says, "I'll make it fit" and proceeds to hammer the thing with her hand onto the rest of your foot. And it entertains her for a LONG time - which is why if I can get dinner ready on one foot while she occupies the other, I will! At the bottom corner is when Stina got jealous of Elle having all the fun so she tried to jam a glass slipper on daddy's foot (toe is more like it). Darik agreed that his feet are way more ugly than our are! This picture is of the girls with their favorite person in the world: daddy. And he's even READING to them, which is even better (although they love tickles and playtime, too). My kiddos in the bath - they really wanted their swimsuits for some reason that night. This is another part of the day I love because I've gotten to the point that I can trust them to play in the tub safely and without touching each other or fighting, etc.; and it will occupy about an hour of their time (if I let them get that wrinkly, that is). Here is Bubba trying to crack us up, as usual. He is also with his favorite person and doing his favorite thing: playing games & getting attention from adults! You should see this kid as he's basking in all the glow of adult attention of playing Go Fish with 6 adults @ my parent's house. It's like nothing could be better for the kid!
The two foster families of our foster kids got together last weekend for playtime in the snow at the park followed by playdoh and hot chocolate. We have really loved getting to know the other foster parents of the other two girls - they are so awesome. The Department (H&W) had Santa come visit and I brought the kids down since C&C missed the ward party. They loved it but obviously Christian thinks he too old to SIT on Santa's lap! and since I haven't seen any teeth lately I'm thinking either too cool for a tooth smile or he's embarrassed of his teeth. I'll have to look into that. . . Ok and just like 5 minutes ago in the middle of my trying to blog this Ellie needed mommy time so I took an hour out to build this castle around her. All of the kids loved it to bits and pieces. We love these blocks - and we only buy them during on Black Friday when Walmart has em for $10 a bag. It would be fun to build up our collection pretty big that we could build a big ol' house or somethin one day.

  2. I am basking in the cuteness. Jayda has started wearing my wedding shoes around the house, which look like glass slippers. It's nice that they're getting some use, because I have since turned into a stepsister and my fat feet don't fit anymore! Don't you love this age!
