santa, sANtA, SANTA!!!

This year's ward party was a huge improvement over last year, our new little ward is really starting to get the hang of this thing!! Well, it started with the dinner and we only ran out of food at the very end. And then they had a cute little program - my fave thing about wart Christmas parties are the cute little programs. The Primary basically was in charge . . . and they asked Bubba & Ellie to be Mary & Joseph. I said yes, not remembering that they would be with their momma . . . and I had to call back and ask if Ellie could be an angel instead. I don't think they wanted angels so small they couldn't read the lyrics to the song they were supposed to sing that was posted up on the wall . . . but oh well. So they start the program and our friends the Claysons were the family that told the Christmas story as the Primary acted it out . . . and when it came time for the angels to come out -- Ellie was the first of them out there. She walked on to the stage, looked around, and said loud enough for only some people to hear, "Where's Santa?!?!" Then the angels started singing and she turned around to look at them like, whatthecrapisgoingonhere??? I loved it. So cute. Then the program gets over and Santa shows up. Man my kid is one SANTA maniac. Not only does she love baby Santa at Nana's house to pieces . . . but she sees the real one and gets so excited she almost hyperventilates. She saw him and her face got all flushed and she was so surprised and probably was the happiest I've ever seen her. Since it was getting near bedtime and she was getting near cranky I hightailed it to the line on the stairs to see if we could get out of there a little early, but alas, I was trampled by several primary children as we all waited. It was a funny way to end the night, she totally crashed when she got home and all the while talking about how she asked Santa for a crown with crystals in it.

  1. our ward Christmas party was amazing this year! The primary put on a program and it was so cute. Our little one is to little to participate but she was singing (yelling) with the primary!

  2. That is so cute!!! Jordyn finally likes Sants, but Chelsie screamed when we tried to put her on his lap. She did not want any part of it.

  5. Sounds to me like Santa better find a crown with crystals in it for that little angel! When Emmy was about her age, I was finished with my Christmas shopping and at the ward party she asked Santa for a barbie in red dress. He promised her he would bring one, so guess who spent the next several days searching madly for a barbie in a red dress!?! I actually found one, and it was the highlight of her Christmas =0)
