A Labor {day} of Love

Well, obviously I've explained the foster drama and how this all came to be -- but exactly three weeks later I've gotten around to actually posting about how our very last day as the AndersSandoval Family. It was Labor Day, September 7, 2009. The day before we had a big family dinner party to say goodbye . . . both the local Andersons & Millers showed up in full force. I really wanted to make it what the kids wanted to do so, of course, Christian chose to play Apples to Apples with the adults. The next day we just wanted to have the most fun ever invented for a family day. After we knew Monday was our last day I tried to arrange family pictures ASAP -- a good friend of the family, Dave Bagley had offered to take our pictures for free as practice as he wants to start his own photography business. After looking at his pictures below you will want to give him a call! Let me know and I can pass on the deets. Anyways, after an early morning photo shoot we headed home to change and eat -- but our power was out on our block so we changed into play clothes and went to McDonalds (kids' request). We ate and played at the park before hip-hopping over to Outer Limits. THE Outer Limits. The Holy Grail for 7 year-old boys. We actually stayed at least two hours before hip-hopping over to the Reel Theatre to watch UP.

After the movie there was nothing else to do but go home, pack up the truck & the car and move our two kids to their new home & family. I can easily say that this was the hardest thing I've ever done in my whole life. I want you to notice in the picture below I have a picture of the kids on their VERY FIRST day here and right below it a picture of them on their VERY LAST day here. They grew so much. I love their guts.

  2. I've just spent the last 20 minutes catching up on your blog and I'm so touched I don't even no what to say. I guess I just want you to know that my heart is aching for you right now and you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. You are a strong woman, never forget that.
