canning schmanning

seriously, I don't feel like I'm a domestic diva but this is what I've been up to:

so for the last few weeks I have canned
  • 18 quarts peaches
  • 18 quarts pears
  • 18 pints raspberry jam
  • 9 pints triple berry jam
  • 13 pints zucchini salsa (thanks for the recipe Sara!)
so yeah, look at me go. I have run out of jars and I still need to do apples, and WinCo is all out of canning supplies for the rest of the year. I'm going to have to see what I can rustle up.

  1. I'm proud of you! Canning is something I've never done before. It kind of looks like fun though!

  2. Good Job! I know where to go when I get hungry. :)

  3. What a good girl! I need to learn how to can ... actually I need to get the desire to can! Thanks for inspiring me!

  4. OK- I seriously saw the title of your post and the first thing I thought was, "What a domestic diva!"- CRAZY- I know you don't feel like you are- but really, you should be proud! That's amazing! I really want to learn how to can. Maybe you can give me a crash course sometime. ;)

  5. Wow! That is amazing! I wish I knew how to can. We have a small pear tree and I would love to learn how to can the pears off of them.

  6. Awesome!! In Boise at the cannery you can buy jars, I wonder if Pocatello's has jars. Good luck!!

  7. Oooh, check out D.I. There's usually a steady supply at the one in Provo, so check yours out, just double check for cracks, etc.

So you MUST share the zucchini salsa recipe!!

  8. Hey I want the recipe for that salsa it sounds yummy. Isn't canning fun I will admit it is a lot of work but the end product is amazing.
