CSI: Pocatello

Ok, I should have known when I heard the girls playing SO silently upstairs for 30 straight minutes that something was up. But I wasn't prepared for this:

THE CRIME SCENE

THE CULPRIT

THE WEAPON
You know, I will admit that the photos don't look TOO bad. But I had taken them AFTER already cleaning up for 30 minutes. You see, in addition to a million tiny pieces of Styrofoam, they had taken jugs of water from the bathroom and turned almost every inch of our real wood floor into a lake. So originally all the little white dots were floating. I went into "save my wood floor mode" and after being assured my wood was safe I THEN broke out the camera for posterity's sake. And if you still don't think it's that bad, have you ever tried sweeping those dang styrofoam dots anywhere? you breathe on them and they fly two feet away. Yeah. It took a few good hours to undo the destruction of 30 minutes. I think the girls got the piece of styrofoam from the box of Darik's ShopVac that we had recently assembled and left the box out on the back porch. Note to self - never leave those out again! By the way did you notice the foam up Ellie's nose? Yeah. Stina looked exactly the same way, too!

  1. Oh My Goodness. I do know how terrible it is to clean up those styrofoam pieces. Tearing them apart is one of Isaac's favorite hobbies too. But the water? That takes it to a WHOLE new level. Heaven help you Kristine. You've got your hands full :)

  2. Wow....that is a ton of tiny pieces of styrofoam to clean up. Good luck cleaning the mess. Just the other day Gavin did the same thing to me but with food.

  3. Yikes - what a mess. I would be the most upset over the water. Since misery loves company, never fear we have done the styrofoam too. And it seems like a week later you will still find pieces.

  4. HOLY!! You poor woman. Such is life in motherhood. But, styrofoam SUCKS! I too, have been there before, with styrofoam and water, though- not at the same time. Sorry. I'm pretty sure you will get bonus points at the gates Heaven for that one though. ;)

  9. Oh my gosh!! Silent play is never good, I can attest to that one, too. My kids have torn up the styrofoam, but never to this extent. I feel for you. Wow! I'll say it again... wow! Isn't it great being a mom?? Gotta love every minute of it.
