Alright, fellow Pocatellans, this is my little push for what I think are GREAT ideas. First off, Pocatello is taking names for residents for their recycling program starting next year. I know it will cost extra $ and recycling programs never pay for themselves, but both in Vegas and Iowa we had mandatory recycling we paid extra for and I really liked it. And we even had to sort everything . . . Pocatello's program is comingled . . . which means no sorting. And you should see what they are accepting! Very little of your trash will even go in your garbage . . . I bet it will mostly be recyclables. Anyways, I think it's a great idea, personally. Especially when you consider all the time and effort saved if you wanted to recycle yourself and sort, bundle, and deliver it to where it's supposed to be. That $5 is saving me time, and time is $, plus we get to do good at the same time. What could be better? While you are at it, Pocatello Animal Shelter is trying to win a $25k grant from TheAnimalRescueSite.com. All you have to do is go to their site and vote for free (no registration) for the Pocatello Animal Shelter. You can vote every day, if it pleases ya even. Just go to THIS PAGE and enter in your city (preferably Pocatello) or just Pocatello Animal Shelter. That's it, easy breezy.
