the decision

I guess it's ok for me to finally post this since it's finally been decided (mostly). I plan on getting a phone call tomorrow offering me a position (front desk/tax work/paperless projects, etc.) with a CPA firm for the rest of tax season. I did my interview today and it looks like it will all pan out.

This has been a harder decision for me than I thought it would be. Right now I'm just trying not to think about the hardest parts (leaving my baby! trying to run a household after working FT, etc.) and focus on the positives: pay off all our debt in two months. Yep, that's basically it. BUT the crux is that enables me to be a SAHM mom full time and not have to work. Well, I really haven't HAD to work. I could have got rid of cable, internet, cut back on groceries, etc. to make up for the extra $200 I was making a month.

Ultimately I found those two days a week I was working part-time . . . I would only get 8 hours of work per week max, but it would eat up two days at home I could have been doing laundry, playgroups, playing with my kids, etc. One of my goals this year is to SIMPLIFY. And I really think that after April this will significantly SIMPLIFY my family's and my schedule.

p.s. I think I may be blogging less. But I think maybe I'll set aside 2 hours every Sunday for a weekly blog update. Methinks it could work.

  1. Wow. That's going to be a tough couple of months, but so worth it. What about Christian and Christina? Are they still with you? I guess your mom will probably watch the kids while you work, which is so nice. Good luck and keep in touch.
