The Rez

Three weeks ago Darik was in charge of a ward/EQ activity at the American Falls Reservoir. He had never been out there so it was fun to have him see Poky's water sports location of choice. Darik works with Bishop Sargent in his calling, and he was the one that brought his boat out all day. Near the end of the day I think a few more ward members showed up. We went pretty early in the morning since our kids were supposed to be picked up by their mom at noon (she'd been incarcerated and had just been released). So the kids were SUPER excited to see her. So we left just as everyone else was showing up -- but Bishop did have a chance to take our family on a spin around the lake. No worries -- in all of these photos with the kids on the tubes the boat was going about 1 mile per hour. The thing I liked most about the trip was how Darik totally had the time of his life. I love it when I see him smiling so big and having so much fun. Usually he is just pressed and sqeezed and stressed between work, church, and home expectations; his idea of having fun is trying to unwind watching SportsCenter. So this was a nice break for him. And I remembered what it was like when it was just Darik and Kristine. Ahhh - to be young again! :-) I am seriously considering our next move to be to a trailer park so we can buy a boat and jetski!
