Church on TV

Ellie's experiencing the high of new-pet-ownership, she's extremely happy in these pictures.  We had a great Conference Weekend.  I really needed the break and pretty much our family just hung out at home the whole time and we were able to watch all of the talks.  For the first time we were able to have Ellie stay and listen through most of it - she wasn't interested in any of the conference packet games, but we had her get out her magna-tiles and build and play with them while she listened.  There were some bumps in the road - because when she's listening and and doesn't understand an adult term or euphemism she gets all huffy and starts saying how the person talking is wrong.  We got into a particularly long discussion during a talk about a man's grandchild suffering from a birth defect and he said something to the effect of, "Just offering to help without actually helping is really no help at all."  Ellie was all in a huff that he said helping was no help and he was wrong, etc. etc.  We were able to agree to disagree and move on.  I loved Elder Hallstrom's talk "Converted to the Gospel through His Church" (the difference between being active in the gospel and active in the Church), as well as Elder Christofferson's talk about "The Doctrine of Christ" (on canonized doctrine and opinions of past church leaders) followed by Pres. Monson's "The Race of Life" (on family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ being the only important things in our lives)  the and MoTab's Come Thou Fount that left me in tears.  There were a lot of others that were very good.  It was a great weekend.

ps there's a picture of us kissing here because this is the weekend Ellie informed us to quit kissing because it annoys her, that it sounds like bats flying in the ceiling.  ??!?
